Movement Helps Emotions Settle

When kids seem anxious, unfocused, or irritable… it’s often not behavior.
Kids regulate their brains through movement, play, and time outside — even in winter.
When bodies don’t move, nervous systems stay stuck in stress mode.
Movement helps emotions settle, focus improve, and stress release.
Before assuming something is “wrong,” ask:
• Are they moving every day?
• Are they getting outside — even briefly?
• Are they using their body, not just their brain?
Winter movement still counts.
And it matters more than we think.
Start with movement, see what changes.
